Progestex Natural Progesterone Cream

Natural progesterone can counter the undesirable effects of excess estrogen, and may reduce the symptoms and discomfort of PMS, premenopause, and menopause. *

Progestex Natural Progesterone Cream uses an advanced liposomal transdermal technology to supply a physiologically correct dose of 20 mg of natural progesterone (480 mg per ounce). Progestex natural progesterone cream contains progesterone derived from wild yam, not from soybeans. It is formulated with unprecedented purity and effectiveness. It is fragrance free, and free of all commonly used xenoestrogenic or questionable cosmetic ingredients, including alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, PEG-8 stearate, polysorbates, and propylene glycol. Progestex's unique liposome-mediated delivery system carries the progesterone directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the metabolic processes required by other transdermals, assuring its effectiveness. It absorbs within seconds, leaving a fresh, clean-feeling skin.*

Description of Progestex Natural Progesterone Cream from Allergy Research Group®:

Progesterone stimulates osteoblasts (bone building), protects against breast fibrocysts, aids thyroid hormone activity, helps the body to use fat for energy and to normalize blood sugar levels, enhances cell oxygenation, normalizes blood clotting, restores libido, normalizes zinc & copper levels, protects the embryo, and functions as a natural diuretic and a natural mood-enhancer. Progesterone is crucial in the production of cortiscosterone and nerve myelin.  Dr. John R. Lee offers evidence that it helps normalize imbalances associated with reproductive organ and breast cell proliferation. Millions of women have found progesterone to be helpful in the areas of PMS and inflammatory conditions of the breasts, ovaries, endometrium, uterus, and pelvis. *

Natural progesterone cream may reduce the symptoms and discomfort of PMS, premenopause and menopause, without any of the negative effects associated with 'hormone replacement' therapy.  This is really hormone dis-placement, because the most common estrogen used is derived from horse urine, and the progestins used are altered from the natural progesterone molecule. These modified versions are not found in normal metabolism and do not provide many of the functions of real progesterone. Until recently, this hormone displacement therapy was routinely advised by gynecologists for menopausal women in the belief that it offered protection against osteoporosis and relief from menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes. *

Side effects from progestins include mental depression, insomnia, cervical erosion, edema, acne, and pulmonary embolism. When taken in combination with estrogens, women have reported nervousness, dizziness, hair loss, fatigue, and hypertension. Synthetic progestins can also produce masculinizing effects in women, whereas natural progesterone does not cause masculinization. *

Although estrogen is associated with slowing the progress of osteoporosis, studies indicate that it does not prevent or reduce it.  In addition to the increased risk of ovarian and breast cancer, high estrogen levels may also decrease libido, interfere with thyroid hormone, impair blood sugar metabolism, reduce vascular tone, increase body fat, and increase salt and fluid retention.*

Progesterone and estrogen work together, and both are needed for balance.  However, some researchers believe estrogen dominance to be very common.  Research has found that women can begin to skip ovulations as early as their mid-30's, with increasing frequency as perimenopause approaches.  When a woman does not ovulate, progesterone levels do not increase during the last two weeks of the cycle, allowing estrogen to go unopposed. And at menopause, while estrogen may eventually drop 40-60%, progesterone can drop much lower as ovulation ceases, upsetting the natural balance. During his 30 years of clinical practice, Dr. Lee discovered that estrogen dominance was responsible for many problems in his patients, including bloating, water retention, breast tenderness, and depression. *

Estrogen dominance can be exacerbated by many factors, including petrochemical compounds in soaps, perfumes, medicine, and plastics that mimic the action of estrogen; prescription progestins that block progesterone receptors in the body, hindering the progesterone molecule from performing its many functions; and estrogens in animal fat, meat and dairy products, concentrated there from pesticide-laden feed as well as from injections of estrogens.  Dr. Samuel S. Epstein, a world authority on the carcinogenic effects of industrial pollutants in air, water, and the workplace, has also shown how many common ingredients used in body care products are toxic, xenoestrogenic carcinogens, or can become them once absorbed into the body through the skin. *

Although it is important for us to address the issues of environmental pollutants, in the meantime natural progesterone can help individuals restore and maintain balance. Progestex can help balance problems associated with estrogen dominance, and it is the only natural progesterone cream that is completely free of any estrogenic ingredients. *
