These Microbial Balancer formulations from Allergy Research Group® take advantage of the powers of certain general plant extracts to affect the intestinal balance of microorganisms. Since both friendly and unfriendly microorganisms are affected, Allergy Research Group® suggests the use of a probiotic supplement while using these botanicals (but taken at a different time of day) or after ceasing the use of the microbial balancers. *

Description of PhytoArtemisinin (Hypoallergenic) from Allergy Research Group®:

PhytoArtemisinin contains pure artemisinin (Qinghaosu), the active constituent of the herb Artemisia annua (sweet wormwood) enhanced with phytosaponins.  From the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine, artemisinin is cold.  The phytosaponins, which are warm, complement this characteristic of artemisinin, resulting in a more balanced formula than pure artemisinin alone. The combination of artemisinin with phytosaponins may provide other synergistic benefits, including enhancing the activities of absorption and targeting. *

Gleditsia sinensis, also called Chinese honey locust, is found in the woodlands of western China.  In a 2002 study, it was shown to have some anti-allergic properties, possibly inhibiting inflammation by reducing the release of histamine from mast cells. Traditionally, all parts of the Gleditsia sinensis plant have been used, and have variously been found to have antifungal, antipruritic, antitussive, astringent, expectorant, hemostatic, decongestant, purgative and other properties.  It has reportedly been used in treatments for tonsillitis, acute numbness of the throat, and to help control inflammation. *

Pure artemisinin is the active constituent of the herb Artemesia annua.  Good quality A. annua contains 0.3-0.5% artemisinin, so pure artemisinin provides hundreds of times more of the active constituent artemisinin than the whole herb. Research has shown artemisinin to be particularly beneficial in balancing the microbiology of the GI tract.  Allergy Research Group's® artemisinin has had independent cell tests verifying its effectiveness, and they do independent potency assays on every batch, using HPLC.  In addition, Allergy Research Group® has received excellent feedback from numerous practitioners who utilize artemisinin in their practice. *

*Hypoallergenic Defined:  According to Taber's Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary "hypoallergenic" is defined as:  "Diminished potential for causing an allergic reaction."   Allergy Research Group® defines hypoallergenic as "Free of all common allergens", specifically, wheat, corn, soy, gluten, yeast, dairy, and eggs. Many very sensitive individuals who reach to supplements in general, are able to tolerate Allergy Research Group® product. Since our inception in 1979, we have been using only the purest, and whenever possible, the lowest allergy potential natural ingredients.  And while many of the nutrients in our formulas are synthesized from natural substances (plant sources), which as a whole may contain antigens, the synthesizing process removes the molecules of the desired nutrient from the original substance, and in the processing a great percentage of the antigens and allergens are left behind. The final material then has extremely low allergy potential.  This is not to say that no one will react to any of our hypoallergenic formulas, as some extremely sensitive people may.  However, the potential for an allergic reaction is low, and the feedback from many of our extremely allergic and sensitive customers is that Allergy Research Group® supplements are the only products they are able to tolerate.  (For further information about Allergy Research Group, click on their information link above)
